Admission Process

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION for M.S.W Course

 

Admission to the First Year Programme shall be open to the candidates who have passed B.A. / B.Sc / B.Com/ B.S.W./degree programme of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University or any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent thereto. The minimum qualification of admission to M.S.W. Degree Course is Bachelors Degree in any faculty of a recognized university with at least 40% marks.

B.S.W Course

            The minimum qualification of admission to B.S.W. Degree Course of Dr. B.A.M.U.Aurangabad is candidate should have passed H.S.C. std. with minimum 40% marks.

 

Intake Capacity for BSW –  40 Students

Intake Capacity for MSW – 60 Students

 

Admission pre-requisites:-

                        B.S.W. & M.S.W. are full time courses therefore students are not permitted to take admission to any other course or seek employment at any time throughout the period of training. During the B.S.W. & M.S.W. Course training students are required to visit and work in various settings, such as slums, communities, hospitals, care and custodial institutions, awareness building and health maintaining organizations. The students will be required to uphold sound professional values and ethics as a trainee as well as professional social worker.

            B.S.W. & M.S.W. Course demands considerable physical activity and stress, candidates seeking admission should produce a certificate of physical and mental fitness. 

            The appropriate authority of the college reserves the right to ask a student to leave the course if he/she is found unsuitable (with sufficient reason) for undergoing training in social work at any time during the period of training.

MODE OF SELECTION

 

                 Every candidate is required to get registered within stipulated period by the college. The candidate will have to fill registration form and pay Rs. 100/- as registration fee for the entrance test before appearing at the written test.

            Written test will be of 50 marks, based on general knowledge, intelligence and social awareness of candidate. So candidate should be prepared to face test. Application for admission is to be made on the prescribed format attached to the copy of the prospects. No separate call letter will sent to candidates regarding the entrance test.

            Selection of the candidates for admission to B.S.W. & M.S.W.  Programme shall be made on the merit of the qualifying examination and entrance test. Entrance test will consist of –

  1. Written test, b)  Group Discussion,         c) Individual Interview

Selected candidates will have to obtain a transfer certificate indicating the

College last attended and the examination passed. Candidates who passed their qualifying examination from a university other than Dr. B.A.M. University, Aurangabad, will have to submit a migration certificate after receiving admission.

            Those SC / ST/ NT/ OBC candidates who are eligible for the GOI post metric scholarship and economically backward class (EBC) holders, will submit caste and income certificates and receive that facility after completing all formalities with the concern Govt. departments.

            The pattern of reservation of seats will be followed for the admission to B.S.W. & M.S.W. course according to rules & regulations of Govt. Of Maharashtra for SC / ST / NT / OBC / P.H. / SBC and women candidates.

            Selected candidates must also come prepared to pay full fees at the time of admission.

            Additional Marks for admission to M.S.W. shall be given to the candidates as shown below. If candidates has –

  • Passed B.S.W.                                                                                    10 marks         
  • Passed P.G. degree exam (any degree)                                               05 marks
  • Participate N.S.S. activities                                                                03 marks
  • Participate in University / State / National level sport events.            02 marks
  • Participate in University / State / National level extra                        02 marks.

RECREATIONAL FACILITIES

 Out Door: Cricket, Badminton and Basket Ball

 Indoor: Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess Board

 

 

ATTENDANCE

 A candidate shall be considered to have satisfied the requirement of attendance for the year if he attends not less than 75% of the number of classes actually held up to the end of the year in each of the subjects computed for theory and practical separately.

 

 

INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

  1. The internal assessment marks in theory shall be based on three tests and assignment conducted during each semester.
  2. In the case of practical, the assessment marks will be based on the performance in the respective classes which includes grooming, punctuality, journal and practical work.
